The Gift of Correction
Those whose mind is well grounded in the (seven) elements of knowledge, who without clinging to anything, rejoice in freedom from attachment, whose appetites have been conquered, and who are full of light, are free (even) in this world.

The verse begins, “Those whose mind is well grounded in the (seven) elements of knowledge, who without clinging to….” In its chapter, this image points toward the influence of teachers and companions. It locates the turning point before outward action, in the quality of attention you repeatedly cultivate. Because this is a historic English translation, test the teaching in experience rather than treating its wording as a demand for belief.
